It also happens to us every now and then. SIP is the cause. Zap and IAX2
continue to work fine but SIP dies. Sometimes * stops responding a few
minutes after we restart it time and time again. It usually happens when a
new subscriber is trying to make a call and due to his NAT or Firewall issue,
the return SIP packets are not getting to him. Once we clear up the NAT
issue then Asterisk behaves normally again. We have been unable to reproduce
it consistently so we have not opened a bug tracket item yet.
