[Asterisk-Users] Codecs for use with Cisco 7960 and ATA-186

GSM doesn't work with the 7960 or the ATA-186.  They will default to
g.711u/a.

 

The lowest bandwidth you can get with them is the g729 codec that can be
licensed from Digium.
