[Asterisk-Users] experience with multi-port SIP/FXS gateways?

Hi, we have a 4port device using the silabs 3050.. great as an fxs
module.
One application works via a PHP scripted java softswitch.
So far asterisk has not compiled for me.. I guess they want u to buy a
card and then give a version that builds :)
Anyway..we will likely sell the system with source code so other
programs like asterisk or SIP/H323 can easily use the devices.

At this point, the device works as a call logging solution..and call
center with a soft pc-client using g726/729/ulaw dll's to keep java up
to speed
As an applet scripted client that can popup on inbound calls etc.

Perhaps there is need for an OPEN sdk for fxs CTI projects.. we have 3
modules.. fxs,fxo and headset.

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] experience with multi-port SIP/FXS gateways?

I'm proposing an asterisk configuration and considering the use of
multiport SIP/FXS gateways (instead of T1 cards and channel banks).
I'm looking for products similar in function to the Cisco ATA-186,
but with more ports.

I've seen the manufacturer's web pages for the Audiocodes MediaPack
(http://www.audiocodes.com/) and the Mediatrix
(http://www.mediatrix.com/)
access devices.

Does anyone have any experiences to share with these or similar
devices, or opinions on the relative merits of gateways vs channel
banks?

Thanks very much!

John
