I don't think any documentation that is geared to a beginning user will
ever provide "magic". Asterisk is a bit hard to configure so as to let
you do neat things with it. Much like *nix, it doesn't get in the way of
doing really clever functions.

Like all good applications with it's own CLI, use help. From help you
will find show applications, and from there you will look up the most
current documentation by show application <foo>.

scans /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/

computer, and some form of interface, either ethernet to link VoIP
phones, or any number of analog interfaces, or T1/E1 interfaces.
