This is explained in more detail in the documentation. in the first
version of the handbook on the web site.

I think you are correct above except for the "s".  It should read
"phone" o not "phones".  Or yu could add the "s" after "device" if
you need multiple analog entensions.   OK you could put two phones
on one FXS but they both be on the same extension
