Yes, they are very nifty. Some stuff needs to be disabled in * to make
them usable (ADSI in the voicemail system needs to be mostly disabled)
but that's pretty minor stuff for even a novice code-monkey.

Yes. For PBX style operation they feel more . . . PBX-like. The hard
part is getting the correct phones.

I like the Aastra PowerTouch 390 or 480 models.

Mmmmm. I can get American ones but I doubt they're certified to operate
there. The big problem is getting a phone that has a code that you can
get. I've gone back and forth (I actually have had six different
phones) before they finally got me one that they would give me the
programming code for. This is the number one problem with ADSI.

The only other messaging specs * meets are Gnophone (pretty much a
computer based application) and CallerID.

I'd be willing to provide remote help on the software side and I can try
to direct you to the correct people for the Aastra phones (I've talked
to someone at Digium).
