Where We Are

So... what is the current status of Asterisk SCF? Glad you asked!

At this point, Asterisk SCF is very much in the early development stages. We have defined an architecture that we think will be capable of supporting a lot of different communication technologies. Our initial focus has been in session-oriented communications, which should be expected given the Asterisk roots. But we expect other vertical domains to be addressed soon.

We are very HEAVY in development. And we welcome developers who have an interest in seeing an open-source, highly-scalable, fault-tolerant communication system come to be available. While the core of Asterisk SCF is written in C++ (and tested across multiple platforms to insure platform portability), there are also opportunities for Java, C#, Python and other developers to be involved. Check out the technical details on this wiki for more information.

We will be calling for beta testers in the near future. Asterisk SCF is not currently ready for deployment in a production environment. But with the help of the open-source community, it will be soon.
