[asterisk-r2] Problem using patch for 1.4.18

I did not quite understand what you mean about the fedora versions.
I have Fedora 10 installed on my laptop and installed autoconf-2.60
and the ./bootstrap.sh script runs without problems. This definitely
is a problem with the versions of autotools.
Where did you run the ./bootstrap.sh script and under which autoconf version?
