Digium will merge sometime in Asterisk 1.6, the current plan is to
have it to 1.6.3, but the code is still being reviewed and there is no
confirmation this is really gonna happen in 1.6.3, it may take longer,
depends on Digium dev team really.
What about the users of 1.4 and 1.2? I don't wanna go backwards, but,
there is a lot of users still with 1.2 and 1.4. In fact, at the
beginning I was hesitating about whether or not to create branches for
1.2 and 1.4, but it has definitely payed off, without the testing help
of many users that just wanted to use 1.2 or 1.4, openr2 has become
more stable, which could have not been accomplished with the testing
of users brave enough to test 1.6 in production.
However, I have been thinking more about my own proposal, and I think
that the openr2 release might not bee a good place to put this patches
given that the release schedule for Asterisk may vary considerably, so
some place in libopenr2.org web site would be the proper place to put
this packages or patches.
