[asterisk-gui] Why must voicemail access be n digits?

Am I missing something here? I do not see why the GUI cannot/should not 
support Vertical Service Codes (aka CLASS codes) for voicemail access.
Or, to put it in English, is there any reason to prevent one from 
defining *98 for voicemail access (a commonly used code with telcos).
(Obviously I can figure out how to change the code, I'm just curious if 
I'm missing something deeper.)
