For just the core switching functionality you will run into issues with threading/fork/the (lack of) filesystem in vxworks, just for starters.
<br></div><br>If you are looking at vxworks on an embedded cpu, take a look at either uclinux or linux on that same platform instead. At one level it pleases me to hear that asterisk has enough penetration into embedded now that people are thinking about cost-reducing it to the vxworks extreme. At another level - unless you have a boatload of time and money I'd suggest trying to using linux on the same board.
