The ability to be able to run both channel drivers is important to me and my customers. In most cases,
we're still running 1.4 and migrating to 1.8 (as you see from my branches). Only UDP, since the
TCP/TLS code broke a lot of things and was bad code from start. 1.4 has been rock solid, but it took a 
few years to get there. 1.8 is slowly getting there on SIP/UDP level and some people claim that
11 is on par with 1.8.

The new stack will have to have some new and important cool SIP features to be implemented and tested. I 
haven't seen them yet, but could have missed it. It will take a few releases to get it up to par with the current stack. 
During this time, it's important to keep the old one that we all love to hate.
