We're currently recommending 1.6.1 for production Enswitch systems, with 
security patches back-ported from 1.8, as this is currently the most 
stable option in our experience. However, 1.8 is rapidly approaching a 
point where we'd feel comfortable recommending it to our customers, as 
patches exist for all the problems we're aware of and it's now just a 
case of finalising them and getting them rolled into the official 
Asterisk builds.
