I was aware of Polycom's support of shared line appearances, but I don't 
think Asterisk supports it.  Kevin Fleming said earlier in this thread:

"Shared line appearances are hard to implement with Asterisk, and even 
harder to understand when the concept of a 'line' does not really exist 
at all (like when VOIP trunks are in use). We have talked about ways of 
getting there, but it will not be easy."

Asterisk uses presence, hints, and call-limit to provide shared 
*extension* appearance, but it brings with it the limitation I cited above.
