Does Digium claim they'll support Asterisk for the next 100 years?  How about 
Steve Underwood's hard work?  Or yours in the h323 area?

ANY of these tools is going to have a learning curve, and anything that is 
trying to make a code base work across multiple platforms is going to be 
complex due to the nature of the beast.

Your point is taken, but you're also being unrealistic, IMO.
