Steve, you really should play the files in a separate thread (and so
should Asterisk, but it doesn't, yet).

Please see my bug report at http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=3599 and
look at the v2 and v3 patches for ideas to try. You may have to apply
them by hand, since they have not been kept up to date with CVS.

I fought for quite a while for this to get into the main Asterisk tree,
but it was like wading through treacle and life was too busy!
