In a similar scenario it could be useful to use the MWI as an indicator 
to the agent that they are logged in or out.  That is one feature that 
seems to be lacking in most VoIP phones that we have looked at, and it 
is pretty handy as a management tool.  (As the manager would only have 
to glance at the phone to tell the status.)
