Then the answer is to provide a replacement soft phone package for
Windows (& Linux - etc) that provides similar functionality to Skype in
a similar distribution package - that also speaks to Asterisk.
The Consumer would then have a choice..
Skype: closed propriety package.
PC-IAX: open package.
Both do the 'same' thing - ie allow you to call other people - but
PC-AIX allows you to potentially talk to more people, to talk to your
companies switchboard - and runs on open architecture and the consumer
is aware that there are stand-alone hard phones that do the same
thing...
