Part of the problem with the written word is it does not tell the emotion of
the person. The above can be said both in a cheeky and in an unfriendly tone
which would make a big difference.
I too thought it was a bit of a unfriendly comment at first, but realized that
it did not have to be. Nor do I think we need to give unfriendly messages as
it just lowers the quality of dealing with Asterisk. If someone is acting
uninformed I prefer to point them in the right direction over "snapping" at
them. (If I feel snappy I might type a rude reply but I delete it before
sending it as I don't want to spread such a message to everyone. Some
messages simply don't belong on lists and I send them off list.)
This is a very busy list and I for one cannot keep up with all the threads. So
I often end up picking up things here and there.
