[Asterisk-Dev] Codec orders

sip.conf says:
;disallow=all                   ; Disallow all codecs
;allow=ulaw                     ; Allow codecs in order of preference
;allow=ilbc

I'm suspicious on the "in order of preference" part. The code just adds allowed codecs
to a bitmap. As far as I understand , there's no order of preference.

Is there something somewhere else in the code that keeps the order?

Is this something someone else than me wants?

I would like

disallow=all
allow=ulaw
allow=ilbc

make asterisk behave different than

disallow=all
allow=ilbc
allow=ulaw

At this point, if I'm correct, these two configurations are the same.
