That previous test framework patch had some issues and it no longer applies cleanly.  I intent to post a less aggressive patch for the testsuite that will not necessarily make any scripts compatible with python3 but instead will get it closer (IE fixing relative imports, print statements).

If you know python3 at all I'd appreciate any tips on how to get 'make ari-stubs' working, then configure.ac will be able to detect /usr/bin/python only and everything will work even if it's python3.
