Patch Set 4:

The testing I've done has been using starpy posted to:
https://github.com/coreyfarrell/starpy/tree/py3

It includes the commit from Rodrigo Ramírez Norambuena's that has been posted for review on github plus some more work I've done to resolve (existing) pep8 and flake8 complaints.  In addition I've implemented but not tested py3 compatibility for the examples folder.  I've also bumped the starpy version in setup.py from 1.0.2 to 1.1.0 since py3 compatibility is a new feature.
