Patch Set 1:

I plan to backport this to 13/15 once it gets an OK.  The ast_module_helper function will need to take 'int type' instead of using the enum, automatic casting will take effect.  This is needed to be sure the ABI matches.  The only documented values for 'needsreload' was 0 and 1, the functionality for both of these values is maintained.
