Patch Set 10: Code-Review-1

Just some general comments to mirror our discussion from IRC and so people know where this is:

1. I've run into problems using this on my system, I think we'll need multiple people to try it out and fine-tune stuff
2. The instructions are unclear of exactly what to do to use it
3. If you fail to follow the instructions exactly the resulting error message from configure can be confusing to a non-developer

Something I didn't mention:

1. I think distclean should clean out the third party stuff as well. Right now it doesn't seem to.
