Patch Set 4:

Addressed the feedback. Also a review for master has been added as well. 

NOTE: I went ahead and took a stab at the suggestion of "making audiohooks smarter in regards to this so that it doesn't needlessly transcode and stuff it into an slinfactory" in the master version so the patch is different there.
