consider it done. in as much as possible, i'll try to track/port the zaptel 
freebsd port to work on 4.x, as i've been doing for our own implementations.

could you elaborate on this ? i've built asterisk linked against lthread[1] 
instead of libc_r and havent seen any major bugbears yet. this has been 
tested up to 200 simultaneous calls doing Monitor().
[1] a simple modification of some of the Makefiles from asterisk in ports.
