The following list shows basic scenarios that are restricted (that is, not allowed):
• The call that passes through a PSTN gateway connects directly by using WAN to a <span class="">VoIP</span> phone or <span class="">VoIP</span> PSTN gateway in a different geographic location.
– If PSTN gateway is located in <span class="">India</span>, this remains strictly restricted. If the PSTN is in another country and a <span class="">VoIP</span> phone is in <span class="">India</span> and if connection results in revenue loss to <span class="">Indian</span> telecom service providers, the connection gets considered restricted.
The following list gives basic scenarios that are permitted:
• Call directly between two <span class="">VoIP</span> phones in different geographic locations
• Call from a <span class="">VoIP</span> phone to a PSTN gateway in the same geographic location
A call that passes through a PSTN gateway must never connect directly to a <span class="">VoIP</span> phone or <span class="">VoIP</span> PSTN gateway in a different site or geographic location (geolocation) through use of <span class="">IP</span> telephony.</pre></div></blockquote><div style="font-size:12.8px"><div><br></div><div>Sources:</div><div>(1) <a href="http://www.in.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/TRAI-to-set-inter-connection-charges-for-VoIP-calls-after-DoTs-go-ahead/articleshow/50997258.cms" target="_blank">http://www.in.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/TRAI-to-set-inter-connection-charges-for-<span class="">VoIP</span>-calls-after-DoTs-go-ahead/articleshow/50997258.cms</a></div><div>(2) <a href="http://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/trai-in-favour-of-regulating-ott-players-115100300030_1.html" target="_blank">http://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/trai-in-favour-of-regulating-ott-players-115100300030_1.html</a></div><div>(3) <a href="https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12531631/trai-india-regulations-regarding-voip" target="_blank">https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12531631/trai-<span class="">india</span>-regulations-regarding-<span class="">voip</span></a></div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div></div><br><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Sat, Jun 11, 2016 at 1:36 AM, chris <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:tknchris@gmail.com" target="_blank">tknchris@gmail.com</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left-width:1px;border-left-style:solid;border-left-color:rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><p dir="ltr">What companies can do it legally and who is the incumbent ?</p>

<br>
I'm looking for cheap landline DDI VOIP trunking in India and Pakistan.<br>
<br>
My server is only for recorded information for blind people and is<br>
based in the UK, but I've been asked if I could provide a similar<br>
service in Asia.<br>
<br>
I could always spin up a mirror of the server in Singapore if geography matters.<br>
<br>
I've looked around and found a couple mentioned in the Digium forums<br>
and lists, but the companies have vanished since.<br>
<br>
I don't know if it's OK to mention names on here. If not, please<br>
privately email me, along with the reason why you think they might be<br>
any good.<br>
<br>
Otherwise, share the love and recommend away!<br>
<br>
Thanks!<br>
<br>
<br>
