Client's business has been screwed no matter what. Even if he go to court, fight and get the number it will be at least few days if not weeks. Customer hate you if they fail to reach the service on the number for more than 5-6 times. <br>

it to a voip provider I was quite careful to be sure that I remain the<br>
owner/assignee of record for that number with only the provider of<br>
record changing.<br>

This underlies the importance of making sure who "owns" a number...<br>

If you can demonstrate that you are the "owner/assignee" you may be<br>
able to get the court to release it as relief to you from it being<br>
tied up in legal matters. I guess at this point it really boils down<br>
to how much that number is worth to you.<br>
