Discussion
Subject: [Asterisk-biz] Any advise on replacing an existing
analog installation with Asterisk

Hello:

I am faced
with another situation with the customer:

Analog PBX with 200 analog
phones served by a T1 which, through a channel bank, feeds 24 anlog trunks into
the PBX.
Yes, the phones to trunks ratio is high but is
acceptable.

The customer wants to replace the existing PBX but not the
phones and existing wiring; primarily becuase of the existing investment in
analog phones AND no LAN wiring in place for IP Phones to connect.

A
single Asterisk server would require one T1 for 24 incoming trunks
and 9 T1 and 9 channel banks to serve 200 analog phones!!!

I am sure some
of you have dealt with situation - any general ideas how to go about
accomplishing this?

Thanks very much in advance.<BR
