Free, or low-cost.

It sounds kind of preposterous on the face of it, but makes a certain
amount of economic sense for certain inputs.  This principle of crippling
mediocrity being "good enough" because it's at an acceptable intersection
of value and price is, in fact, a major linchpin of several large national
economies and even regions of the globe.
