Your message was posted as a 'Reply' to another poster's message.
Because of this, a) people who decided to ignore the original thread
using a feature of their threaded mail reader will not see it and b)
those of us who didn't ignore it will assume you tagged it onto that
thread either for a reason (which is unclear) or because you didn't
know any better (which is not good).

The practice is known on mailing lists as "hijacking" or "thread-jacking" 
and you should endeavour to avoid it whenever you can.
