I originally posted this to show that this product is now being sold
and marketed, and to elicit feelings from the community. There really
was no direction for the thread, just people stating opinions, one way
or another.
Agreed that this has turned into a 5th grader flame war, but people do
need to be called out when they lie.
I for one (and the original poster) was curious why Jay claimed the
markup had to be so high. Personally, I just charge an hourly rate,
not to go over X many dollars. I don't sell boxes, I sell solutions
and support for those solutions. I usually have the customer call my
guy at CDW or PCConnection and order what I tell them, so there is no
markup on hardware.
I offered overhead as a reason for the high price 3Com was charging
and Jay used profanity to dismiss my explanation. Well if it isn't
overhead, then what is it Jay?
I am with Bret on this one.
Thanks,
Steve Totaro
