We use PBX Manager in ITSP business - with this product we have clear
roadmap - small customers with one voip phone/gateway sits
asterisk-based swithc with our own billing system, next level customers sits
on
their own virtual PBXs configured at our multi-tenant PBX Manager-based
server
connected to our billing, next level customers use their own asterisk boxes
with single-tenant PBX Manager connected to our billing. This way we has
the same environment with the same interface and features.
The key point of PBX Manager is that it's operation is
based on script library which is safe and easy to maintain compare to
most competitors when you have to do many things directly at asterisk
dialplan files. Each script has short name, brief description and all
parameters definition with name, description and type - when you select
some script during say SIP phone configuration or system feature
number definiton you will see all required parameters as lists which are
already
filled by all possible values. This way there are much less chance for
mistake.
If you need some nitty-gritty which is not supplied by default script you
can
clone it and make all changes. System script library can be updated from
central repository.
Another advantage of PBX Manager is that all common functions
including Follow Me, Call Screening etc are programmed only with internal
asterisk dialplan commands without any AGI functions - all those external
processes
provides much higher load on system and increase risk of system fault.
PBX Manager is designed as multilanguage software - currently it supports
English, Spanish, German, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, French,
Italian and Dutch. Each admin in multi-tenant version and each user in
both versions can use it's own language.
At the moment we are testing beta version of PBX Manager with completely
redesigned user interface for both admin and end-user portals.
Now it's much more friendly and flexible. Another strong feature
under debug is autoprovisioning for common models of SIP
phones/gateways.
PBX Manager works as module of Webmin - well known and very powerfull
Linux management system. This is much more secure compare to stand-alone
http-based management software. Users access rights are controlled by
Webmin so you can use some accounts for both asterisk and other
system services management.

Can anyone tell me their opinion or experience using the PBX Manager by
thirdlane?
It looks really good http://www.thirdlane.com/pbxmanager.htm.
But, I would like to have some real-life service provider references before
I spend the time and money trying it.
