BTW derrick.. not that i hate trixbox.. well yes i do hate it.. its
consuming 99% of our support calls.. meaning 99% of users using it are the
ones having problems.. is it the fact its noob based as a quick start
asterisk all in one tool box ? or the fact.. and correct me if im wrong..
but last 5 installs i looked for clients , there where no exernalip nor
localnet in the sip* files.. + the fact that phones in the lan connecting to
it OVERWRITE the sip username in a std industry sip:USER at ip format.. meaning
all phones from them users where trying to connects as invalid users instead
of using the trunk username.. QUICK fix.. add fromuser= in the trunk..
But still.. just to prove that quick setup time not = best strategy.. we
refer all our clients to use vanilla 1.2.15 installs and learn form there..
the curve is a bit higher but worth the troubles later on..
Also note users using trixbox are rarely upgrading and most of them i see
still run RC1.. since when do one run a RC on a production box anyhow..
Not that i mind but it made us need to NOT SUPPORT but instead TOLERATE 3rd
party apps like ASTERISK GUI or Trixbox..
Any support for these need a support plan..
so yes FREE , but then again most users will have problems and end up paying
for support time..
only once it was on our side out of about 200 support cases using trixbox..
Brings an idea up.. ill touch base with this list in a few, with a good plan
i guess
