good idea, it would then present you with "New call...where do you want it to go (land-line,
cell, voicemail) ?" and then you just use the remote to select whatever option :-)
I am however aware that Asterisk, well VoIP calls, are sensible to CPU load, so I guess
that a PC running X would need good hardware to unload the CPU; especially on the PVR
side, thinking of hardware compression on the tuner and video cards or such.
Good thing there is a PVR open source project called MythTV which runs on Linux but not
sure if there is an actual Asterisk plug-in for it.
Here is an example of an Asterisk box that would nicely fit in my living room :-)

Make it wireless and voila !

Well yes, there are a few nice things you can do with this setup,
another one is the bluetooth proximity detection; you get ouf of your
house and your DID calls are then automatically forwarded to your cell phone...
That would be a nice PVR, I think that's where Asterisk home applications
will get in a near future anyway; you won't see it in a closet but
in the living room right next to your TV and sound system. That and a nice
on screen menu (PVR plug-in) for specific asterisk functions that you can
set by using a remote from your favorite sofa... :-)
Here we go....

Hi Andy, is it Linux based ?
If it's the case why not putting Asterisk as well in there
and show on screen the caller id ;-)
Cheers
Frederic
