Because you don't want to get lost in technical details, you want decent 
and responsive support, and get some free time to focus on your core 
business?

I mean, why do (some) people buy Asterisk Business Edition? Because it 
brings some peace of mind to have a vendor to turn to (it's not unusual 
to get a few month of support, and ongoing support contracts), even if 
the software is provided "as is", as opposed to have somebody tell them 
"hey, the software is free, and you've exhausted your support tickets, 
and i've got better things to do right now".

That being said, I'm sure both A2Billing and Enswitch are viable 
solutions. Open source is great if you have skills and time to commit to 
it. Otherwise, don't discount commercial products so quickly. The 
ability to have turn key solutions to the challenges you face is great too!
