I personally wouldn't really have a use for it, but I'll give my .02c (there is a pun in there somewhere)...
I think for people who would use chan_skype, this is probably a very good solution. If the price were reasonable, say about the same as a normal SIP provider (2c/min, or maybe a flat monthly fee), I could see it being of use.
The reason people would prefer this over installing chan_skype, is the obvious X server argument.
