According to that link, 25 channels of G729 is 600k. 16 G729 channels
theoretically fit in 384kbps of IP traffic. Also note that this is
symmetrical (you need the same bandwidth upstream and downstream).
Now, with IAX2 trunking you could get 25 channels in 384kbps:

A good start would be:

depending on the codec 384 kbit should be enough (g729 codec).
You can lower the bandwidth by using some low bitrate codec or
gateways like Quintum that have PacketSaver techniques).
We have some ADSL gateways running heavy traffic (20 calls),
it really depends on your ADSL provider quality and the router
behind this connection.
