I'm using it.
Good? No, it isn't. Acceptable? Yes.
Delay is around 900ms, not unusual at 2000ms. Seen sometimes at 3000ms.
To avoid more problems and bandwidth issues, I only use G729.
I'm connecting a Cisco 7960 and a GS BT-102 to an asterisk server. This
is for my personal use. The organization I work for is also using, but I
can't disclosure their system. What I can tell is that they have a much
larger bandwidth, and their system is not as good as mine.
This is my sip show peers report (over 40 minutes or so):
OK (1419 ms) / OK (1092 ms) / LAGGED (1617 ms) / OK (1099 ms) / OK (1500
ms) / OK (1286 ms) / OK (982 ms) / OK (975 ms) / OK (1183 ms)
You *must remember* that you will have at least 1 second delay. For some
customers, this is unacceptable.
My next step will be setup an asterisk server here also. But I don't
believe will have any impact on delay or quality.
I'm also using a Packet8 ATA. Not better than asterisk...
