As far as I know yes you can, that is one of the functions of it. I
posted a similar question in the forums which came back with a definate yes.

I'm currently evaluating Asterisk, and one of our hopes is to use 4 analog
lines incoming with SIP IP phones internal. Currently our phone system
restricts us to 15 internal numbers only. Asterisk will solve that by
allowing us as many as we want.

That is definately possible, I have confirmed this on many fronts.

Basically so long as you have the right hardware, Asterisk is configured
with the correct inbound/outbound rules it will work fine.

Craig

Maybe what I wanna do is not possible....
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the concept of Asterisk.

Is it possible to route a local 56k analog call to a voip SIP phone & Vice
versa...??

Anyone would like to set-up a simple asterisk box for my buisness ( 56k
modem to Ethernet )?

I can install it, set it up on public IP for remote config & get the modem
to answer.
But that's about it.
I just can't figure out the rest of the puzzle..

I don't mind paying a couples paypal for it,,, :-)
If it interest anyone , hit me offlist
