<p>didn't find you yesterday on freenode (took me some time to register ... and maybe also time zone difference ? (I'm in Europe) </p>
<p>anyhow, I finally managed to build the Asterisk 1.8.6.0 via 'DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="debug" apt-get -b source asterisk' and then config/make/make install as I was used to do before. </p>
<p>and guess what - it does NOT give the segmentation problem on starting up asterisk and seems to run wel (except for lots of XMLdocs missing during startup up - any means to disable this in the modules.conf in stead of installing libxml2-dev and recompile asterisk?)</p>
<p>could it be that meanwhile some bug is resolved, so that the binary package for lucid is already outdated - and that I'm using the latest trunk release now instead of the latest branch? If so it's better to upgrade the package I guess...</p>
