It is often a quick way to see if it is worth responding to someone. If<br>

Not always, but as Gmail evolves as a service, they seem to be making this style of conversation more and more difficult. Inline replies and bottom-posting are nearly impossible to do nicely on an iPhone. Outlook – as mentioned elsewhere in this thread – isn't helping here either.</div>
