Ubuntu has a separate -server kernel variant. From what I understand,<br>
using it is not a good idea on a Asterisk system, as it is intended to<br>
an application such as a file server, optimized for higher throughput.<br>

Asterisk is closer to a desktop multimedia program, which prefers low<br>
latency to high throughput.<br>

Is that recommendation still valid?<br>
