<p>Is your ISP doing DNS resolutions for you? If yes, then I also think it has something to do with the DNS queries which hangs asterisk. But it should not bring the server down.</p>
<p>On CentOS, caching name server should be very easy to install by doing:</p>
<p>yum install caching-nameserver</p>
<p>I don't remember if it also sets up the required config files.<br></p>
