Why do I see many setups where there is an Asterisk server in combination with a SIP-server like OpenSER or Kamailio ?<BR>
Isn't Asterisk enough as SIP-server ??<BR>
It can communicate with many databases through ODBC, with many other software through an API (AGI), with other servers like OpenFire for jabber,...<BR>

Why is there an extra SIP server implemented at many VoIP-providers ??<BR>
