<p class="MsoNormal">Here’s an email I received from a client who has a
trixbox system that has contracted with me for some custom dialplan
programming.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">While I was away at a conference on Tuesday, our server
crashed same as before (it was “responsive” to GUI interface but no
calls could go in/out). Our staff rebooted it Wednesday morning then I
got a call this morning that the phones were very staticky so they rebooted
again and that resolved the issues. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I’m ready to resort to a nightly Cron reboot at 4am but
that’s just avoiding the underlying problem… would like to figure
out why it’s happening in the first place.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The clients system is a supermicro P4 2.4ghz, 1gb ram, 250gb
hard drive. The client is using eyebeam softphones, and is using sip trunking
to his phone companies services over a T1 line. This is the second time he has
called telling me that the system is locking up, but apache seems to still
work, the gui seems to still work, it just simply doesn’t route calls.
After they reboot everything is fine. However, as noted above, they seem to have
to reboot the system an awful lot lately.</p>
