For fax machines, we generally recommend setting the FXS channels connected to fax machines to -2 gain and I-Loop to 25.0mA. To do so, unlock the CB (1-3-2-4 sequence), then select Configure (1), Channel (3), then use the NxtFld (1) and ChgVal (2) buttons to navigate to the correct channels (or A-FXS for all FXS channels), and set the parameters. Be sure to press Save (3) when done for the settings to take effect.

Bob, in order to be a proper G.168 EC, it would automatically disable itself on the channel as soon as it hears the fax tone.

Regards,
Bryce Chidester
Rhino Equipment Corp.
bryce@rhinoequipment.com
