<FONT FACE="Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><SPAN STYLE='font-size:12.0px'>Asterisk is sensitive when it comes to DNS lookups. If the DNS server configured on your Asterisk server is not reachable, Asterisk may block while waiting for a result. This can cause chan_sip to hang and not allow phones to register, or calls to be placed. One solution is to run a DNS server on the same machine, and cache results or use IP addresses instead of hostnames.<BR>
