I think that has to be done on a device by device basis.<br><br>
In come cases the configuration change is done on the client
(software/device).<br><br>
If it's a card that goes in the linux box that is running asterisk you
can set that in the config file for the device.<br><br>
zapata.conf for Zaptel cards.<br>
phondev.conf for QuickNet (PhoneJack / Linejack cards.)<br><br>
If it's an external device, or a PC running a VoIP client, there is
usually a configuration option for that.<br><br>
