<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">I think there is a bit of confution
over the term 'ringtone' I started out thinking that I could use
Alert_Info to define a different ringtone that I had setup on the tftp
server - ie it was the same as going to the phone and changing the ringing
settings manually.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">This is not the case and the release
notes for firmware version 6 say that you can only use Alert_Info to define
a ringtone that is held internally within the phone, and not a url or external
tone. When testing it would seem that settings Bellcore-dr1 to Bellcore-dr5
only change the number of times the phone 'rings' per ring if you get my
drift!! ie:</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Bellcore-dr2 goes ringring.....ringring</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Be aware that it seems that if
you set alert-info in asterisk it will override any ringer settings on
the phone and always use the default rintone.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">I have only found this out by testing
it all out for a morning - if anyone knows how to set the rintone to a
completely different one held on the tftp server then pls let me know.
I am running Firmware 7.2 and none of the release notes since 6.0 highlight
any changes in the behaviour of alert_info - very annoying.</font>
